So after a bit of technical difficulties, and only about 7 hours after the promised due date the first episode of Katy’s new project Auf’d Runway is live. After getting booted from the show in the third episode Katy always said that the part she was most disappointed about was that she would no longer get to do all of the challenges. So rather than be disappointed we decided to take matters into our own hands, and this is the result.

We ran into some problems trying to encode the movie to Flash Video format last night, the biggest of which was the realization that Quicktime Pro doesn’t come with the Flash Video encoder that I thought it did. I hadn’t realized that the reason it was on my computer at home was because I have Flash 8 installed.

Once we got that figured out however it was mostly just a matter of rendering it a couple of times and tweaking the settings to try and get something that was not a huge file, but still high enough quality. This involved a lot of waiting for files to render, which took a whole lot longer on her Mini than on my beastly G5. It got the job done though.

Next time should be a whole lot easier, and I think we’ve both got some tricks up our sleeves still.
